Originally released on August 22, 2006, on the eve of the ‘celebutante’, Paris Hilton’s debut album, and then re-conceived and re-released on June 5, 2008, 'Paricide' is an exploration into media influenced perception. The project juxtaposes a hand gun with a metaphor for tabloid celebrity, and encourages the viewer to question and conclude upon the subject's relationship with the weapon. The resulting scenarios pose a distorted image, reflective of the subject's persona as it may have been perceived through celebrity "news".
